A Payday 3 release date has been leaked, suggesting the game could launch on September 21, 2023. This information comes via reliable Windows and Xbox dataminer, Aggiornamenti Lumia, who previously leaked Microsoft’s plans to introduce a “Friends & Family” Xbox Game Pass plan.

The leak doesn’t give away any other details, though suggests that an official Payday 3 release date reveal could be dropping this week during Summer Games Fest 2023.

Payday 3 will be coming to PC and consoles in 2023, it has already been announced. Payday creators Starbreeze confirmed that the sequel is back on track following a landmark €50m publishing deal with Koch Media.

Koch and Starbreeze haven’t specified which platforms we’ll see Payday 3 launch on though it’s safe to assume the heist sim will appear on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Much like Payday 2, the sequel will embody its games as a service approach to dishing out regular new content. Having originally launched in 2013, Payday 2 continues to enjoy a thriving fanbase with dozens of DLC packs having been released featuring new levels, characters, weapons, and cosmetics.

Developed by Overkill Software, Payday’s unique concept of executing intricate heists with friends struck a chord with gamers seeking thrilling cooperative gameplay. Players don the distorted masks of skilled criminals, meticulously planning and executing daring robberies in immersive environments. With a wide range of customisable weapons, diverse skill trees, and countless heist variations, Payday 2 offered an abundance of gameplay options that has kept players coming back, heist after heist, for a decade now.

Emphasising teamwork and coordination, Payday encourages players to collaborate and strategise as they navigate stealth sections, repel ambushes, and manage side tasks. Its enduring popularity is clearly present through the sheer amount of DLC that has steadily dropped throughout the past decades, adding new heists, weapons, and even crossover characters including John Wick.

Needless to say, fans can’t wait to get a first proper look at Payday 3. If a release date is set for September, we can hopefully expect a gameplay preview very soon.
