With Tekken 8 reportedly set to launch sometime in 2024, fans may not have to wait that long to play with rumours a beta test may be available soon.
As the latest instalment in the Tekken franchise, Tekken 8 will have fans waiting a bit longer with a rumoured 2024 release date. However, thanks to a supposed playtest spotted on Steam, players may be able to get their hands on a beta test sometime soon.
Tekken 8 Beta Is Reportedly Coming Soon
Tekken 8 is an upcoming beat em’ up game by Bandai Namco. As one of the most well-known fighting games alongside Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, it has a healthy fanbase.
The fanbase in question will be happy to know that a Tekken 8 Playtest has been spotted on Steam. Although it does not come with an accompanying release date, this is a sign that a beta will be arriving soon.
It is also worth noting that the developers are yet to confirm this. However, we could expect an announcement during this year’s Summer Game Fest which kicks off on June 8 as Bandai Namco are expected to attend.
The beta in question will allow fans to get a taste of the game including its mechanics, visuals and of course, how it looks on Unreal Engine 5.
Release Date
As of now, an early 2024 release date is only rumoured for the Tekken title. However, with a beta on the horizon, this could mean the team is further on in development than we thought.
What we do know is that Tekken 8 has already been playable in offline closed alpha tests at real-world tournaments recently. However, this rumoured beta will be the first time it will be available for the general public to try.

For now all we can do is wait to see when the playtest will be available on Steam (no sign of it for console yet). We will be sure to update you when it has been confirmed.
